I am def. no pro, but would like to know what size sponge most use.

I have heard that the more sponge:
example: 2.2 compared to a 1.5 that the 2.2 would be faster and have more spin. However, I am trying out two different paddles and the 1.5 paddle (Stiga Eurotech is supposed to be faster with more spin than my 2.2 Stiga Ultimate. My Ultimate(2.2) sure feels like it is faster and also feels better but the Eurotech is rated higher. Is it just a different feel that is throwing me off? Anyone?? Thanks.
