Best to keep your stoke very short, if you have a bad backhand, hit right behind the ball, on top of the bonce, for opponents underspin shots, and hit a little on top for topspin, the midpoint between the centre and top of the ball. With pips, no real point in brushing the ball, or being too wristy as the ball does not grip the rubber, must hit through the ball with just a slightly angled bat, should be able to hit underspin returns faster then opponements top spin as chop should be converted into a little topspin (even short pips have a little anit-spin effect)
