The following message (subject: Re: What is a push?) was posted by Mr. Oz, on 3/22/2005 6:11:09 PM:
A push is a stroke used to return backspin/no spin balls that bounce close to the net. Typically, the player opens the racket and moves it forward while contacting the bottom of the ball in order to impart backspin (underspin). Sometimes a player may opt just to allow the ball to bounce on his racket and go over the net, usually when the ball bounces very close to the net. |
