I played 563 on my backhand for about 10 years. 563 is not a rubber that rewards passive play. It does not chop, push, or loop particularly well. The medium pip effect is not such that you can expect a lot of errors off of it by simply keeping the ball in play. What it does do extraordinarily well is flat kill. With 563 you can successfully flat kill low and spinney chops and pushes with impunity. It simply devours underspin. Practice attacking serves and pushes and chops. You need to push the envelope and attack balls that you previously thought would require a passive return. Use a quick flat stroke. If you become skilled with this rubber many of your opponents will be shocked at how you can attack all but their very best hit chops and pushes. |
