Actually, the highest ones are over 50. Like h1 or g888 or the old blue pf4 sponge are prolly 50. HRS used to be considered a chinese soft sponge at 45deg. Traditional medium japanese attack sponges like markv and sriver were like 42. 40 is where they start calling it medium soft. Most euro sponges that are "sv" are around 35. MarkV30 is the lowest I know of at 30. I've heard shildkrot had a 30. Below 35 control starts to go backward to me. In fact, it happens a little below 40, as it starts to be come inconsistent for smashing to me. Pushes start to pop up somewhere below 40, esp if the sponge is tensioned. Of course if you're using 30-35deg sponge you're probably going to try to loop everything you see. |
