I use 729 super FX and the sponge is too hard as well. Still, I see that they have a couple of other rubbers, one with Japanese sponge and one with so-called ESN sponge that make the rubber faster and most probably a bit softer as well. Anybody with a few words on those?

In any case, I do hope Friendship is not exclusively a hard-sponge company... The sound the FX makes on my Korbel blade is just plain ugly, yet I can't count on winning on the sound alone! :-)
