I have the same problem too. I played for years -- decades even -- without any problems. Then it suddenly appeared last summer. I haven't been able to play for 3 or 4 months. I think I aggravated the problem by trying to come back too soon. It seems to be the same thing that lawn tennis players experience. Sorry, I can't offer much help or advice except to go see a good sports medicine doctor. The only cure seems to be just to rest it. The pain does seem to be going away now and I will try playing again after the first of the year.
