The rule quoted is explicitly clear. "1.1.4 Friction - The minimum friction level is 25mN. The rubber surface of the racket coverings should be uniform and without coating." It applies to every racket covering regardless of type! Neubauer is wrong and he is purposefully being thickheaded because its in his financial interest to pretend that the language only applies to PIPS because of history. Al Gore said "It is difficult to get a man to understand something if his salary depends on his not understanding." This is clearly the case with Neubauer and pretending that the language only applies to PIPS. Slippery Anti sheets will be banned if they don't meet 25mN minimum friction standard. ALSO -- If you go out and microwave your rubber to make it slick or leave it on your dashboard for the sun and heat to make it slick, then that will also violate the 25mN rule but furthermore it will violate the upcoming ban on treatments that effect the playing characteristics of the racket covering beyond normal wear. |
