It plays pretty darn good unglued - among my favorites. When glued, it is an animal. It can drink up a lot of glue, and takes a while to dome (due to the fairly firm sponge), but when glued up to a 1/2" dome or more, it is REALLY fast - perhaps not quite as fast as glued up Bryce or Hammond, but it is in the same neighborhood. It is, for me, a very versatile rubber. I prefer not to speed glue, and the sponge is fast enough, and the topsheet spinny enough to let me get away with it. It is excellent for hitting, driving, pushing, and serve return - basically it excells at anything over the table. Regarding loops... It is at its best for power looping, but also lets me do a variety of slower, higher arc loops as needed. I like it... bes p.s. I can't imagine needing Max thickness. I can't come close to getting "to the wood" with 2.0mm. |
