im not sure if there is any way of converting the us system to the UK system, but it seem like in the US, a gap of 200 points indicates a significant difference in ability, whereas in the UK, 200 points is very little. However, I have read from these forums that in the US, having 1000 rating puts you as a beginner, whereas in the UK, 1000 points is fairly respectable. I saw the video of the 1400 rated guy on DTTW , and would rate myself more highly than that, although I am around 800 in the UK. However, I still think the lower rating area in the UK is a bit of a lottery. |
