I believe the grip in table tennis is more important than in tennis. Just the time involved prior to the next shot would make it nearly impossible to be changing. The ball moving at 90 mph from 9 ft is certainly to fast and to much to handle.

If you go lower on the handle, more power is generated, but less control. Similar to golf, a longer shaft?
