Yes, rubber cement is usually based in heptane. The cement thinner is usually heptane as well. Heptane tends to soften the sponge and be spinny with lots of dwell and very little if any gain in speed. Adding dlim would add speed. I woudln't mix them. I would put on a brush full of dlim once ever other day. The stuff lasts about 2 days if you keep the rubber wrapped up. Then I'd just refresh the heptane ever 3 hours or so.

Be careful with the dlim. That stuff can build up and make your rubber expand a ton. Then if you cut it, once your rubber dries out it can look like it was made for a keychain paddle.
