well theres plenty of ways to apply topspin from when i watch games,u can immitate the look of the stroke of a shakehand player and stroke the ball side and upwards at a closed angle,but i see more advanced players actually stroke more from underneath the ball going upward,and actually flicking their wrist at contact through the ball to apply an amazing speed and spin.This is just for forehand though,sorry cant really give great details,but im no penholder and you just gotta see it for yourself to know what i mean
