This is how historians would describe TT in future: Table Tennis used to be a game played by two or four players with a wooden paddle and rubber sheets. The players started the game by applying and adhesive called speed glue on their rubbers and letting them soak for a while. The process was repeated number of times, building up more layers for hours, and then compared on how much the rubbers buckle. And then as a grand finale the rubber sheets were attached to the wooden paddles amidst applause from audience. Variations included different types of rubbers, paddles and glues. At the end of this long game, it was customery for players to hit a ball over a wooden table for last half hour. ###Thanks ITTF for stopping speedglue.### |
