| Hi JRS Dallas, I have examined the Hallmark Original in detail and there is no dome on the pips. The tips of the pips are rough, it is almost like pips on pips to obviously minimize the contact of the ball to the rubber. I would say that there is some kind of chemical on the pips as they do have this nasty smell. Not only does it produce ugly play, but it looks and smells ugly as well. Thanks, Ben |
