well,when it comes to tt balls,i,m not choosy as long as it is 40mm balls;but when i,m playing in competitions and not just practice games we use the nittaku brand of balls.
speaking of sidespin,this technique is especially useful when used with surprise, it sometimes confuses the opponent when given in serves especially at the table sides.caution should also be exercised in giving this spin since this spin can be easily attacked by good loopers,since this is more of a topspin than underspin.anyway you can combine this spin with underspin for precautionary measures.
