My theory is that chinese tacky rubbers produce the most spin on serve. The reason is that the ball will spin no matter how hard the impact of the ball on the rubber due to the stickiness of the rubber's surface. On the other hand, the European non-tacky rubbers produce spin only if the ball can sink into the rubber far enough. Since you never usually hit the ball hard [instead you scrap the ball] when you do a spinny serve, the impact will not be large, so the spin will not be big either. I think you should start off with RITC 2000. It is cheap and is a traditional chinese tacky rubber. |
