A loop is a heavy topspin shot that, to some degree, is pulled down to the table by the topspin. It is generally considered an offensive shot although a slow loop with heavy topspin can be used defensively in some occasion. You can pretty much choose between striking the ball more forward which will produce more pace and less spin, or you can stroke upward lightly brushing the ball which will produce a more arcing heavier topspin shot. |
