type in hardbat at this forum. It is not the future of tt, except in its' own special niche. It is the past of tt, as in the 1940's and 1950's. It simply means tt played with pips out rubber, with no sponge. There is a special hardbat division of table tennis, with the older rules in force, such as the games going to 21, instead of 11. In the regular tt division, there are some players who use no sponge pips out on one side and a sponge smooth rubber on the other side, to have variety in their game. Ken |
