Since looping is a (pretty delicate) mixture of body (legs, hips, waist, and shoulders) for power and arm (wrist, elbow, and shoulder)for spin, lowering your speed involved finding the right tempo and mixture. Even when you have dialed in a 100% stroke (or any number) with high power (body) and high spin (arm), lots of variables appear when you change one to 60% - or any other variation. It is tricky to dial the speed of two (or more) fairly distinct motions down precisely - that is a big reason why golf is so difficult. Even if you could dial down to exactly 60% power and 60% spin, the shot may not work. Most blade/rubber combinations aren't linear. For instance 60% speed may be fine, but 60% spin my not be adequate. The blade angle will likely need to be adjusted too. Unfortunately, you'll just have to work out the proper tempo and technique at various speeds and ingrain them. A good coach should be a big help - he'll be able to tell you to adjust the spin or speed, or change the blade angle as necessary. Good Luck! bes |
