I've not tried spirit, but I've got a biside I picked up in a trade which was the forerunner supposedly to the spirit. What I find with the arylate blades is that:

1) they're real springy in the short game. Good for looping and attacking backspin and over the table where you don't have room for a big cut. But they're also difficult to push without sailing or popping the ball.

2) That's a composite that deadens the blade a lot. You simply can't feel the ball. Arylate blades, to me, are by definition advanced blades even if they're labeled off-.

That said, if I were going to use it I'd get a thinner or deader rubber on the backhand that I could push with some reliability.
