I'm no penholder, but I think that blade is soft and spinny more than fast. I'd guess it's more of a looping blade than a blocking and hitting blade. It favors stepping back and taking a full swing versus the compact stroke at the table. You may want a stiffer, harder blade for that style. Or perhaps if you like the violin, consider the acoustic or whatever that newer faster version is called.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, just paraphrasing what I've read from other players.
