YHB, Personally, I don't think you should change your playing grip. How about trying to improve on it instead. Maybe what you need is a different tactic. As you probably already know, it's not always about generating more spin but rather a variations of spin that often wins the point. Other times it is the placement of your shot that catches your opponent off guard for a weaker return. Re-learning a different grip can be time consuming and you must be prepared to lose lots of games as well as time. You might even try to get a chinese type of blade and try to play with your backhand like top rank Wang Hao from china, he can can hit all kinds of shot with his back hand (Not bad for a penhold player)personnaly, I believe he has the best back hand for a penhold player. Just watch him play and you will be amazed. Good luck. Ben |
