I use g888 on my forehand for my dawei 007 carbon blade and it is a great traditional chinese forehand rubber. It packs some punch and you can do pretty much anything with the rubber though it specializes in serve and attack of course. The wangnan I have on my backhand though I have a hard sponge. I get the feeling the topsheet is spinnier and overall higher quality but I still favor my G888 over the wangnan. the wangnan is more versatile though, if you are an all around player and some dude is getting all defensive on you and you can't smack the shit out of his backspin then the wang nan can help you adjust and cut back. The one with japanese sponge maybe closer to what you are used to in the BTY rubbers and would definitely pack some springiness due to the soft rubber and I'm sure it'd be great. of course g888 all the way. |
