My daughter purchased the Optimum recently following advice at an international tournament. She is 18, slight frame and disabled Class 6 so requires light weight but is also an attacking player.
She had been using Nittaku Carbon but found a straight balsa blade just as fast and lighter in weight so was using that at the tournament.
She finds the Optimum to be just as fast but better control and 'snappier' compared with these blades and weight seems to be in between the two.
She definitely prefers the Optimum. Hope this helps your decision.
