Reviews of Nittaku Violin (27)

I have recently bought a Nittaku Violin with the large handle. I have to say, I did not expect such a massive improvement in my game. I used to play with a Butterfly Timo Boll Forte blade with Tibhar FX-S 2.0 on the forehand and Tibhar Aurus 1.9 on the backhand. I kept the same rubbers on the Nittaku aside for the thickness in the backhand, I reduced that to 1.7 just to try it out. Spins and smashes are now on the table instead of over the table. Pushing is more predictable. I now also dare to flip with the backhand which brings a welcome variation in my game. My previous bat clearly was way too fast for my skill, the Violin is slower and I have the impression it also generates a bit less spin when I am really going for it. The fact that it is slower, allows to apply somewhat more movement in my serves. So the 'lack' of spin will probably be compensated by a more confident strike of the ball over the next couple of weeks. When you are someone (like me) who tends to play topspins a bit too hard, this bat is clearly for you. It seems to 'cap' the speed and energy you can transmit to the ball.
Expensive, but recommended.

I bought it because Ma Long used it in 2005 and the great reputation behind it. Having many other blades 7plys and various Carbon woods I decided to start from square one again to develop my strokes using a slightly slower blade. The Violin definatly helps in learning to develop your strokes and now I understand after buying a few blades why one may want to consider learning the art of the sport with a 5ply first which in short avoids loads of unnecessary frustration. All in all 10 out of 10 blade.

Despite its reputation and price, it's a pretty mediocre racket. It's also relatively slow. Nittaku also has a number of much better rackets, even in clear woods.

This is my 2nd blade after buying viscaria as my first blade. the idea to build 2nd blade for another variation using longpips. it works well but when i tried to combine using FH-Goldarc8 and BH Fastarc-G1, absolutely amazing.
this blade give more tolerance for the stroke and the maximum control for the direction.
one of my colleague also own this blade but older version, she combine with T 80 FX and T 05, the result are amazing.
the speed is slower than viscaria (since violin is allwood) but the result is delightful and reduce my mistake during the gameplay. Using this blade for ball positioning is very convenient and it will provide difficulty for the opponent.
