The main feature of the new DONIC Alligator Combi blade is the difference in speed between the forehand and backhand playing sides. The AR+/Def+ blade is made of a 5-ply combination which has been carefully crafted to create perfect harmony between the different playing characteristics of each side.
The core is made of soft Balsa wood which makes the blade very light and relatively stiff. On the forehand side, two harder and faster veneers are used, whereas for the backhand side somewhat softer and therefore slower veneers are used. The result is that outstanding power can be achieved when playing topspin shots with the forehand side and fantastic control is guaranteed when playing a defensive game away from the table with the backhand side.
The DONIC Alligator Combi is unique in that it complements both defensive play away from the table and attacking strokes and blocks close to the table. Players who use disturbing rubber sheets such as Anti and long pimple rubbers will be especially amazed by the enhanced playing possibilities of this blade.

My current blade. I use Butterfly Impartial XS short pips (2.1mm) on forehand and Donic Piranja long pips (1.2mm) on backhand. Control and feeling on forehand are both nothing to complain about, they fit the short pips very well. Same with the long pips on backhand. Hence it's a combi blade the speed differs on the two sides, so that's hard to rate but so far no complaints. This blade fits my current playstyle very well. This blade is extremely light, as is the usual case with balsa blades. It's great price/quality ratio (I got it for 40).

Very fast blade, it says it's defensive/allround but for me it seems offensive with medium control.
I play with stiga allroud classic, and Donic Alligator is much faster even on the backhand side.
Good back up blade to effort the control ahd accuracy! Good price for it's quality of combi blade!

Great blade at a good price. Lightweight blade with small vibrations, allows you too make controllable loops and topspins. The difference between both sides is slightly noticeable. The only thing i didn't like was both outer plies are very thin but i guess that makes it controllable. I suggest always use a fast high quality rubber on the ALL+ side, and experiment all you like with the DEF+ side.
edit: the quality is not good since the balsa core is flimsy and snapped easily (verified by a couple of users in other forums)

I am a modern defense player who likes to chop backhand and loop/drive forehand. This is a very light blade and the forehand side is pretty fast for a defensive blade as long as you throw some fast rubber on it(Faster than Donic Defplay Senso). The backhand side just feels like any other defensive blade and it is easy to control. Overall it is a pretty solid modern defensive weapon if you want to play with a lighter blade.
