DHS Hurricane 9 - Blue

Select color/thickness:

4.3/5
New Item

DHS Hurricane 9 is quite different from the other Hurricane rubbers because each color has a unique sponge and therefore unique characteristics.

DHS Hurricane 9 Blue with sponge code 22#, offers more power.

Equipped with 22# soft, high-elastic macroporous sponge, Hurricane 9 is great at change. Small and medium strength can bring multiple levels of hitting. With its fast recovery, fast speed and swift changes, it performs well in continuous attack.

Rubber Type: Smooth
Speed: 94
Spin: 93
Control: 70

Reviews of DHS Hurricane 9 - Blue (7)

2. Update! Unfortunately, this rubber is sold under two different names! - DHS Hurricane 9 Blue and DHS H9 Blue.
Facts: my (blue) H9 in 2.15 mm thickness weighs 96 grams in the original packaging, 70 grams uncut including protective film and finally, cut to 157 x 150 mm, (heavy) 51 grams. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the stated sponge hardness of 39 degrees. With my Shore Meter I could only measure 36 degrees!!! This H9 is (glued with conventional solvent-based glue, unboosted!!!) an absolute disaster. (- I hope I didn't buy a fake!!!) No matter how fast the blade is, there is simply no speed to be gained from the rubber. Although it is slightly sticky, it does not even achieve mediocre spin values! Softer, more elastic woods "play along" with it, but do not change the completely poor performance. Only the catapult behavior feels higher and more pleasant.
Conclusion: for me this rubber is "the master of disaster." ;-P
... there are plenty of cheaper rubbers that are better!!! - like Lokis Arthur China or Europe.

Its a great rubber. I have been been using it on backhand for a month now. Great topspin and overall speed is good. Forehand looping is a bit harder as the ball sticks to the rubber so more force is required to correctly play the ball. The rubber is on the heavier side so I recommend playing with a carbon blade.

This rubber is heavy ( 73gr uncut and there are no edges), boosted ( smells chemical)and it plays like watching wet paint drying (watching Downtown Abbey is more exciting). The pink one is much better.

It is more like a beginner's rubber but the sponge is #22 blue, for some reason the rubber loses its tackiness in cold weather maybe because of moist air. good sponge bad top sheet. high control

Very mediocre, bad feeling for the ball. Not really a chinese style rubber.
