Gambler Fire Dragon Touch

Out of stock

Gambler Fire Dragon Touch Offensive Table Tennis Blade is a fast blade with touch and feel properties. The Fire Dragon has two layers of proprietary high-modulus carbon interwoven with multi-stranded tempered filament (FLC). The FLC expands the optimal striking surface and gives the blade optimum flex recovery even at the highest professional levels.

The FLC is then followed by the four outer layers of high-grade Limba and Koto, while the inner core is comprised of select Clearwood.

The Carbon layers are placed closer to the core to provide a soft feel while maintaining the carbon kick.

Fire Dragon Touch is a very agile blade with notable flex and kick.

Weight: 86g

Reviews of Gambler Fire Dragon Touch (4)

I posted a review to their website, but it never made it up on zeropong.com. I have the penhold version. This blade is too light (despite the indicated weight 86g), I will weigh it after I remove the rubbers, but I have other paddles with similar rubbers to compare. As other reviews have mentioned, the handle is very thin. It does not feel good in my hands. The center of mass should also be more into the head.

Craftsmanship is ok. The printed text on the lower head was crooked and the rubbers were glued to wrong side wrong way. This doesn't "matter" but I had mine assembled, and the emblem (which is also very slightly crooked) embedded in the handle prevents me from sanding the backside where the spot between my thumb and index rests.

Maybe this blade is ok for shakehand.

Put Donic Bluestorm Z3 (2.1) on both sides. Provides speed as needed to win the point. Very good control and ball placement comes easy. A blocking machine with Z3. The inner carbon fiber FLC next to the core gives the blade a very nice feel. Would recommend the Fire Dragon Touch to anyone with good technique. Quality craftsmanship and the flared handle has a small to medium grip. Note: Really like the handle size of the Gambler Vector Hinoki blade a little better because of the medium to large grip (perfect size). I would rate the blade as an OFF-/OFF blade. Super nice looking and the weight of the blade without the rubber is 88 grams and with the rubber Bluestorm Z3 (2.1) the weight is 183 grams (not to heavy or not to light). Give it a try.

Nice blade for the money. Handle is skinny. They need to make handle thicker. Other than that, it is an awesome blade. Plays like $200-$300 butterfly blades. I own several of butterflys and this blade is comparable to ZLC butterflys.
Again great blade for beginners to intermediate level players.
I hope Mr. Tom from Zeropong makes handle thicker and comfy like Butterfly and this would turn into the top 10 best blades out there. I higly recommend this blade.

I have the penhold version of this blade. I could not be happier with this blade. This might have just replaced my Stiga Clipper (which costs twice as much) as my all time favorite penhold blade.

First off the finish is top notch. The outer wood plies felt almost glass slick. Just very nice. The handle for a penhold is perhaps my favorite part. The thickness/roundness of the handle is very skinny which makes it as comfortable of a penhold as I've ever held.

Now to the fun stuff. This blade has good flex which is great for spin but no vibrations that I felt. Feels very controlled. You should be able to open up with soft loops on backspin balls with the utmost confidence knowing that ball will hit the table. The speed of the blade is right in that sweet-spot for me. I have it paired with a somewhat firmer sponge on my FH. I think that pairs well with this blade which has high flex. A softer sponge I'm not sure would pair as well possibly lacking in speed. That being said, with a firmer sponge, when I go for a ball, it's fast and given thee spin this blade produces, I have the utmost confidence the ball will break in.

When you need to play a touch or drop shot, you'll be able to keep those balls short. That's harder to do with super fast blades that want to zip everything off the table. All in all I couldn't be more impressed and I highly recommend checking this one out.
