I compare the TB ZLC with Viscaria. Rubbers used on both frames Tenergy 05 max bh and fh. My playing style is to dominate/attack. I have never seen a comparison between those two frames on the internet so I hope I can make your decision easier when you have to choose between those frames. Of course this is all subjective. I played 1 year with Viscaria and I knew there was something missing but what? Then I changed to TB ZLC and immediately I knew what was wrong with Viscaria. Control!!! The control is back, incoming topspin and then blocking with Viscaria was tricky. With TB ZLC no problem. Block in any direction you want. (and the ball is not going over the table). Control with smashing or defending away from the table is fun again. Place the ball where you want the ball to be placed. This is an enormous improvement if you compare this with Viscaria. i also like the lower throw of the TB ZLC (with topspin) and there is more feeling with looping. What I also like about the ZLC is the vibration of your frame when you return an incoming smash or blocking a huge topsin. It feels right! If you are a beginner don't waste your money on this.

Ratings for 89g. I have used Timo Boll ZLC blade for about 1 year. I have found that Tenergy 05 2.1 on both sides is a rocket on this blade. I recommend using thinner sponge. The blade is a little stiff and hard: the materials are Koto outer, ZLC 2nd, Limba 3rd and Ayous core. This blade is between 89 and 91 grams depending on humidity. It is very direct when blocking or smashing. The top gear is very fast even with slower Nittaku Hurricane Pro 3 Turbo 1.6 and Spin Art 1.9 rubber. The low gear is not a problem with tacky rubbers, but non-tacky rubbers can bounce off too quickly. Every time I think I am good enough for a faster blade I play with this and then switch back to my trusted Timo Boll ZLF.
I have been using ALCs and ZLCs like TB alc, Viscaria alc/ salc, Zhang Jike alc, Amultart ZLC, Innerforce ZLC and now TB ZLC. Now I found my personal weapon after a long expirementation combo of set ups. TB ZLC with Dignics 09 on FH and Tenergy 05 on BH dang!!! Its a beast combo!!!!

Precise, fast enough. TBZLC weight light, more feeling and accurate ball placement when smashing, feel easy to smash and looping with speed. This blade has hard feel when slow hit but elastic enough when hit hard for looping. FH pair with hard rubber like t05 best for topspin to topspin attack. FH pair with soft rubber like t64 best for control, lifting or smashing underspin ball. BH just good pair with soft rubber. Need a proper training to get full potential of this blade, if not it will be just a waste of money because of the price. Last week a friend of mine played a while with my blade, the TB-ZLC (ST). He didnt like it too much. He said: "I recognize its potential, but I dont like the feel, it feels a bit numb." I told him that this blade is like beer, maybe the first time it doesnt taste that good, but if you drink it a couple of times, it will taste better and better :). In short: this is an excellent blade, very fast when you attack and lots of control in the short game and blocking. The Zylon Carbon accounts for high stability and also a great catapult effect, with still a decent dwell time. A great blade for close to the table and mid distance attackers.
Very good blade, and nice into design, hard and good stiff between blades, and it is too fast for me, but I applied nice combination rubbers with above control and low speed. I LIKE IT
Good looping blade, good ontrol, but very overpriced for its characteristics.
Before I played with it, I thought TImo Boll ZLC is very stiff and only good for hitting. But it proved me wrong after a couple of sessions. Boll Zlc is very powerful and has great control at the same time. One can loop easily with it as well. The return is very low and hard to counter. It is one of the best and easiest blade to lift backspin. If you are playing against a chopper, this is the best weapon you can have.
Superb blade for medium hard rubbers. Ratings here are spot on. Definetly on the harder side, and a bit on the stiffer side. Still great for looping and excellent for blocking. Short game is a breeze. Control is very good for such a fast blade.
If you have developed technique, and are looking for something faster without compromising control, this is it.

I am a good intermediate level player that can loop on both sides. I was using a JOOLA carbon blade with 4-you rubber and was ready to upgrade. I put Tenergy 05 and 05 FX on the TB-ZLC. Immediately my smash and block got better, but I had a hard time keeping the ball on the table. I used it for 2 months without much improvement. My backhand loop and pushes were worse. The bottom line for me is the ZLC has less margin for error and less gears (I don't think it's a technique issue). My confidence waned. I switched to a Stiga Rosewood with the same 05 rubber and no one will ever get that paddle out of my hands. I have way more feel with it. It has more gears. I can loop backspin much easier. The power is still there, but with way more control. I would only recommend the TBZLC to advanced players who have the practice time or skill to give up margin of error, and want the fasted beast they can get. I've since read not many top level players are using this ZLC technology, and based on my experience it doesn't surprise me, but I'm not an advanced player.
Very good blade... fast but controlable with very good touch for player who want to play fast topspins and flat hits.I used to use stiga rosewood V.This has same control with better speed. But if you want play slow spinny topspins ,maybe rosewood is better for this
Guys. I am thinking of buying a new blade. Been researching for 3months for the perfect combination. Right now, My choice is Timo Boll ZLC + Bryce Speed FX( Black )+ Tenergy 64( Red ). AND Timo Boll T5000 with the same rubbers. I like to loop very far away from the table. A well controlled spinny backhand. Super spinny serves, I want a racket that will suit my Style and will give me SPEED + CONTROL. I really have my eyes on this one. So guys, Pls help me pick a blade
This blade is very light. And when it hits it complements the light weight. It's like pillow soft to say. Small dwell time on a timo zlc w/butterfly flextra rubber. It hits stiff but feels soft in the way the ball pops off (no trampoline effect at allll)...very tough to convey. Precision and craftsmanship is top notch. The amount of spin produced is great but not the best but enough. Where people say this is a drivers bat, it is true, since you don't feeeel the ball, but it is very capable of doing it all. I would not recommend this though unless you want ultra light weight, solid feel with very little dwell, and precision. I would rather loop with something with more feel of a trampoline effect if I'm looping, but this blade for touching and driving. Not delightful at chopping either. Overall I was expected much more and it was not !
fun and exciting to use.
fun and exciting to use.
Just got it, but it has been amazing. Great speed, but not too fast. Amazing control and flex for a carbon blade. Way expensive, but, hey, it was a Christmas gift. If you're willing to spend this much, go for it. It's a great blade
I'm sure I'll have more to say as I use it more :)

ZLC of the timoboll series is aa lot feel like the other ZLC, mjun and amultart. in terms of speed probably the tbzlc is teh slowest. control wise, i would say it is the best. it is really good for driving, counterdriving, blocking, and counterlooping (when i mean drive i mean kind of a sidespin countersmash mechanistic hit). the weigth is much lighter though, which is one of the things i do not like. it is too light, so you can not get lots of power on your loops like you can on amultart. it is really not a blade for me, not to mention it is very expensive as also. so it depends on you style.
Dropped over $200 on the Chinese Penhold version of this blade. It's more of a collector's item but I've been playing with it for the last 3 weeks. The blade is of typical Butterfly high quality control. I've used another Zylon Carbon blade before (Mizutani Jun) so I will compare those 2 blades.
In terms of speed the MJ is a bit faster than the TBZLC. But what sets the TBZLC apart from the MJ is that it is much more linear in terms of the way the ball travel when stroked. It's perfect for my Chinese short pips hitting style. The ball travels a flat arc, making flat hits very precise and dangerous.
The weight of the blade i received was 86.2 grams.

It is so comfortable holding, good at control and spining. I liked it very much. Also thanks the megaspin.com company for delivery this good product to me fast and in good condition.
This blade is really impressive. What really stands out is how much speed you get while maintaining a high degree of flex. Many blades sacrifice flex/feeling for speed, but not with this blade.
Speed is a little faster than VIS, but surprisingly has more flex and better feeling than VIS and the other BTY ALC blades. Maybe slightly slower than HL5, but slightly flexier than HL5.

this is a great blade from butterfly,nice speed, nice control,nice spin,nice dwell time,nice loop,nice chop,nice drops,nice backhand,nice counterloops and beatiful design.!!
The only different of this blade is that it makes more spin and it's fast too. It's very expensive. Butterfly put high prices but the people still continues buying.
amazing dwell time and control for the speed it can produce. Also lighter than the mizutani or amultart with is good bcoz this blade goes well with the tenergy series. the only downside is the price but if you can afford it, its well worth the money.
Horrible blade although the Timo Boll ZLC is extremely well made but this blade is bad at returning, looping, and is only good at smashing.
I find it very easy to use i just bought it yesterday. I use this paddle with the tenergy 5. I find it as a very good combination.
Just got my new BFY ZLC with BFY T05 on the FH and BFY Tackifire C on the BH. Excellent control on BH. with this combination. FH great with T05 for close and mid range loops and smashes. So far it feels good.
Compared to Timo Boll ZLF, ZLC feels harder and faster so you can play farther from the table easier. There is almost no vibration in the racket. With Tenergy 05 both ZLF and ZLC can produce insane spin and speed, but smashing is easier with ZLC because it's faster.

Super fast and sending long trajectory balls.
The shoulders are quite narrow, so while doing counterloop from far, slightly gliding index finger up toward head will reduce excess vibration.

it´s a great blade, fast and good control very powerful in topspins and counterloop but you need a good technique for position, balance, food position and a lot of hours training and playing, then you will expirience an amazing blade!!!
