Drama baby, drama!!! ;) ... in general I don't need rubbers thicker than 1.8 mm on my backhand side (... on an offensive blade!). Unfortunately, with this brake pad I need a thicker version. Facts: red rubber, 1.8 mm in original packaging 88 g., uncut 61 g. Cut to 157 x 150 mm = 43 g. Sponge hardness (according to international level) 42.5 degrees. (-Chinese level around 35 degrees!) The reason for my bad purchase is the discrepancy between a German rating portal ("TT-Spin") and the reviews here and the reviews from various retailers. In addition to the lack of speed, this rubber appears extremely "spongy" due to the very soft top rubber. ( - most 42.5 degree rubbers, international level, seem harder.) The only thing I really enjoyed with this rubber (... on a hard, very fast blade) was blocking. - I just didn't make any mistakes!!! ... absolutely awesome. The high rotation and control values of this slightly sticky rubber are also positive. Conclusion: if this rubber wasn't so soft, I would consider 2.0 mm. ... however, the problem will then arise that the "spongy" feel of the game will become even greater. Ultimately, I have absolutely no idea who I could recommend such rubber to!!! :(
There were not many reviews so I had to rely on my previews experience w/. Acuda S2 which I used to play with years ago. This rubber is ALMOST sticky, and grippy it is, which I prefer. My present setup is j-pen 10mm w/. Fastarc G1. I had to buy this Bluegrip S2 for a Tamca 5000 a friend gave me. From the resultant combination I find this rubber to be spinneyer than the FArc G1 (and the Acuda S2) so more reliable on that department. Slower than the FArc G1 and w/. a higher throw angle too. Good control also if you rely on spin for that. I would not use it on anything slower than an Off blade. Also better for spinney serves. I can only say that, on this fast setup, blocks of any kind are somewhat more difficult but doable. The adjustment from my favorite setup (to this faster one) was easy. I can smash safely and make better fast loops. I only hope this rubber is as long lasting as the Acuda S2. All in all, the combination of a fast blade w/. the BGrip S2 was a success since I didn't have to modify my game too much compared to my regular setup. But I will stick to the G1 setup for better control of my game.
Has a short throw on topspin making it perfect for the backhand. I do understand when people say it is too slow, because, well, it is quite slow. Is relatively tacky, and because of this requires regular cleaning, but that's alright if you have the time. To be honest I was expecting something a little better, so will be replacing the rubber with a slightly pricier one. However if you're looking for a cheap, tacky, backhand rubber this is for you.
This rubber has a short throw on topspin. I am not talking about high and low throw arc. Short topspin throw means the ball lands right after the net especially on loop. Therefore this rubber is great for backhand. Stiff inner carbon blade is recommended. I used it on Stiga cybershape carbon and on Viscaria Alc.
Rubber that produces many effects and with great control.
Rubber is probably not suitable for wooden blades as it is not very fast.
The rubber, in combination with the blade with carbon, manages to unleash a good speed.
I come from a C2 rubber and I must say that the transition to S2 was excellent: I improved a lot in the control of slow strokes and in the block.
The top is less fast but more precise and the effect of the S2 rubber is almost equal to the C2.
