Very good rubber for my backhand.

To soft for me, but not as Palio ak 47blue or yellow. Only for fast hard surface blade, Then I can recommend it. At softer blades its like more pillow.

A big minus for this rubber is the fact that it tends to slip off the rubber sometimes when hitting the ball tangentially, e.g. when doing topspins. Is just like if the ball was wet. I also noticed this on a friends blade while he was playing with the VJ.

You often can read that people have this specific problem with the Vega Japan (red rubbers more commonly though).

As this is a no go to me that I can't accept, this was the last time I bought this rubber.

Perfect 45 degree tensor rubber. Not too bouncy. I disagree with kurokami, for me, this rubber was more spin oriented than the VP, and the VP was much faster, using both of them on the same blade. I agree that it has a softer, more elastic topsheet, which gives it more spin on the slow shots (pushes, short game). The top end speed and spin of the VJ is lower than the VP, so for intermediate / advanced players, the VP will be a better FH rubber. Conclusion: for amateur / intermediate players, this is a perfect 45 degree BH rubber with plenty of control and spin, with enough speed to finish the point using good technique.

Right of the pack you can notify that booster smell, thus you can see distinctive pimple structure on tensioned top sheet. This is not a rubber for beginners. It is bouncy. even its release date of this rubber is from 2013 it is not behind modern rubbers in terms of spin and speed. I have tried vega pro, europe df, asia df, omega 5 euro and omega 7 pro and i can say this is heavies of all them. It is easy to produce nice spin and speed but it lack top end gear compared to omega series(V,VII). Not so great over table doing short pushes, flicks are great. Good for backend looping and drive and for forehand if you need more dwell time. You can produce nice finishers. also have very sound . for 30 euros in my country it is good value.

pair it on Stiga Dynasty Carbon, better than Nittaku G1 and TSP Ventus Speed for this blade
very similar to T05.
Good spin and speed

Updated March/2020....although this rubber is not the latest rubber from Xiom, but its spin capability is insane.
My son using this rubber for competition, all ball loop or drive contain high spin that opponent can not block it back on the table.

Fast, spinny as heck, but with two huge disadvantages:

1) Much much heavier than any comparable rubber (mine weighs almost 50g cut, which is crazy), way too heavy for what it does.

2) Very low arc, low throw angle. Pretty much no safety over the net at all.
If you get the ball relatively high it's fun and powerful, but any ball for which you're not absolutely perfectly ready and catch at right the exact proper spot is too hard to play. T05 for example is much, much easier to simply put the ball on the table despite being even faster.
However, when matched with a high-throw blade (any flexible, thin blade), it makes for an incredibly powerful and easy to play combination.

This is a great rubber, under rated more people should give this a try. Speed glue effect is nice on this one, very good speed and spin, also high durability looks new after 5 weeks 10hr a week, still has strong click when spinning and had not slowed down at all. I like it on bh but also good for fh. Powerful rubber needs more respect.

Medium hardness, medium launch angle, fast, good spin, good for driving, distribution, blocks and topspin, medium arc enough to pass the net, very good in BH, in FH it would work in a very flexible wood, otherwise your shots go to the net.

I actually don't know why the overall rating and spin rating is really low- this rubber is the best fh rubber i have ever used! Loops have tremendous amount of spin and speed of loops/smashes is faster than Vega Pro for sure, even in 2.0 mm. This is a pretty light rubber which suits me a lot. Like what many other people have said- this is definitely underrated.

45 degree rubber. It is kinda special... the ball always will fall in the opposite side of the table, very forgiving for a 45 rubber, the tensor its a bit hide you need to hit strong to activate the tensor. With enough force the rubber will make a lot of spin and speed. Excellent for build up your stroke!!!

Topsheet: EXACTLY exceptional. Very elastic and rubbery. Very shiny and strange odor (though not exaggerated) you immediately realize that it will give you a lot of satisfaction during the services. The thing I noticed is that when I take the ball in a very superficial way (for example, when you make a top and you get ONLY to crawl the topsheet WITHOUT WATCHING the ball) you feel a very "subtle" noise. Sometimes I think if the rubber is stretched on the chassis it might break, like when it breaks to the edges, but then, looking at it, I see the rubber is perfect. Precisely thanks to this elasticity. Like all of Xiom's tires this has the feature that the REDS topsheet is a more pensive than Black.

Recently I discovered two great FH rubbers: Xiom Vega PRO and Vega Japan (MAX thickness). Vega PRO is perhaps the best rubber I played with, but it is a bit too fast (some balls go out of the table easily). Vega Japan is a bit slower, just enough for landing more balls on the table. Excellent spin, very good speed in attack (spiny FH and smashes), yet very good control on service receiving and on blocking. So, no complaints whatsoever! Vega Japan shines on an OFF+ blade (Joola Wing Passion Extreme). BH is at charge of a Joola Phoenix MAX rubber, which does the job very well.

So, as others pointed out, this rubber is grossly underrated at the current grade of 8.7 (it is quite better than Vega Euro, graded with 9.3, which seems a bit "dead" when compared with Vega Japan, IMHO).

Very good for forehand. Good control at high speed. Very bouncy. Not good for short game, passive blocks and choping, I used on a carbon blade yasaka silverline, Good for lifting the ball, good for topspins and side efect. It's an offensive rubber. Very controlabil on fast balls.

A very good rubber from XIOM. Strong aspects in all areas of play and fairly easy to use. After playing for a few sessions the rubber feels natural in play and shots come easily. I have used this rubber on my BH for months and it is a strong rubber for flicks, drives, serves and blocks. While predominantly offensive focused, also has a good enough feel for defensive chops when backed into a corner. One of the best runners in the Vega series and doesn't disappoint. Definitely worth giving a try on BH or FH with a great ability to spin and add pace to an aggressive game, with enough touch and feel to hold its own in passive play.

Really have to agree with spincrazy29, probably the best of the Xiom series, really plays almost as good as the new Tibhar Evo EL-S and is definitely among the top 3-5 amongst medium rubbers. It plays softer than you would think and is a crazy looping machine with enough control to not mess up your game. It would really recommend to ignore the spin rating of 8.7 on this site, especially in light of the fact that so many other rubbers that have a spin rating of 9.3 or more cannot really compare with the Vega Japan in terms of spin. Just look at the list of rubbers with best spin and go down until you arrive at 9.2. I would also like to add that the weight rating on this site is probably incorrect. Mine always weigh about 49-50g, so it's really a very heavy rubber if you consider it only has a medium sponge.

Great rubber, deserves a better score

Not sure why this is rated slower than VP. VJ is clearly faster. If you were to compare the two, VJ is more like T64. It's more speed oriented than the VP, with a softer, more elastic topsheet. The carbo-sponge is the same. The overall feel is softer but I prefer the way tenergy creates the softer feel with a hard topsheet and soft sponge rather than vice versa. Testing this vs T64, it rebounded faster as with most tensors. At the time, it wasn't worth the premium over VP. Now that the prices are the same, it's a good deal and interchangeable with T64 while you use VP in place of T05.

Don't buy this rubber. What tarheel2536 said is true. When you try to remove the glue (butterfly chalk to be specific) from the sponge, the sponge crumbles. In fact, at one point, so much sponge came off that I could see the rubber on the other side. I was so furious that I tore the rubber up with my bare hands. It was actually pretty easy to do, which further shows how non-durable it is. I'm pretty sure that if you catch the racket on the edge of the table you will tear the rubber and the sponge.

I've reglued quite a few rubbers before. This is by far the worst when it comes to the sponge coming off while removing the old glue -- I never had anything that came anywhere close to being as bad as this rubber. Total waste of money.

In my opinion the rubber with the best price/efficiency ratio.

Not as grippy as Tenergy05 or OmegaV Tour, but still very good.

Dont know about SigmaII Euro/Pro, but they are about the same price as Omega V Tour.

Very bouncy, took me a while to adjust from 2,0 mm to max mm.

For the price, it really is a great rubber. On par with all the latest generation rubbers like Bluefire, Rasant etc. Because of the sponge hardness, it can be used for both FH / BH comfortably.

My current favorite FH rubber. I've had more than a few Tenergy users ask to try it out after hitting against them and describe it as similar in effect on the ball. Nice spinny serves, solid pushes, and confident short & mid loops. For the price it seems like a great value when compared to the high end rubbers.

A big disappointment. I was looking for a BH rubber with good control and spin, mounted on my fast, light Yinhe T-11+. Pushes are fine, but it doesn't "bite" the ball enough for BH loops. Vega Europe gives much better bite (though it's slower). FH loops are okay, though rubbers like Yasaka Rakza 7 (on the T-11+ FH) and Xiom Sigma Europe II are much, much spinnier. I can't wait for the replacement for XVJ to come in the mail.
UPDATE: I just pulled the rubber off the blade (easy). Then I slathered the rubber with extra glue to make the glue easy to pull off. Disappointing again--the sponge is so soft that pieces of the sponge came with the glue. The top sheet feels hard, under tension, but the sponge is soft.

This is the best rubber.

My game is allround type, chops, loop, flat smash, backspins etc. Currently use Adidas Fibertec Classic with VJ on FH and Vega Asia on BH. This combo fits perfectly for my type of game. Changed to VJ from Rakza 7 soft which has higher throw and made me struggle for allround game. This is a jack of all trades rubber. So far so good, definitely not disapointed.
