The opinion of an intermediate 40 years old player is that Desto F3 is an under-rated rubber. I use a Desto F3 max at my forehand, with a Yinhe T8S blade. It gives me extra control with the soft rubber, but it is aggressive enough with its elastic topsheet. My drives flow well and I do not need super speed in intermediate games, but control.
When practicing, it is a pleasant rubber to play at my forehand. I know I am a lot more aggressive with a Butterfly Schlager Carbon and a Donic BlueGrip V1 for example. I have more speed and spin and it is more difficult for my opponent to block or counter. However, games are completely different from practicing. Desto F3s good control is something that opponents cannot exploit and this wins games.
PROS:
Control: The control is superb and no matter if, it is a short game or far from table, you will hit the ball with confidence.
Receiving serves: this is very important to guarantee your point, a good receive.
Sound is amazing. Once I played at a different city where there were no Donic users, even the advanced players came to see and try my Desto F3 intrigued by its sound.
Softness: It is very soft, of course, but it is not too slow. It is elastic.
CONS:
Speed: I said it is not too slow, but of course, you will need strength to print speed on the ball. Moreover, when you realize that you have good control and need extra speed and spin, it is time to try a more aggressive rubber.
Spin: It has a moderate spin and despite it is easy to top spin, the ball will not be difficult to receive. However, again, it is best to top spin with moderate spin than have a super spinning ball missing the table.
Serves: the lack of spin makes serves not too spiny.
Overall, it is a good rubber and I give it 9 of 10 thinking on intermediate players like me today. Players who were tired of using harder and faster rubbers, and losing for all average players after a great practice section.

I've grabbed a USED sheet of Desto F3 2 MM from ebay. The seller marked the rubber as 30% used and out of the Germany based TT club. So didn't had high expectations as I've got this for about 15 bucks. It sat for about 5 months before putting it on my DHS H301. Out right, started using on my backhand, feeling was soft, bouncy and overall felt very similar to Xiom Vega Euro. Infact, much better in flicks than Vega Euro. Masters in close to the table play and fishing is fun far away from the table. Thoroughly satisfied for a used rubber and no doubt about durability. Pretty good for intermediate level players favoring spin based controlled game on backhand. Go for it!
really nice sound the best control i ever found in a rubber yet and the best feel ever how ever it lacks spin and speed but great control overall the best rubber for a begginer player
I like this rubber. As with all reviews some rubbers feel right and I use this as my standard rubber over Mark V. Not the best control and can feel slick at times.
I've been playing with this rubber for many years, both in FH and BH. It's a really good choice for topspin-based attacking players.
Control is quite good for an offensive rubber. Desot F3 isn't that good at generating spin but not bad either for a european rubber, and it has definitely enough speed for efficient attacking/winning strokes.
It's definitely my "base" rubber and I would advice it to any topspin attacker.

Perfect for a developing player to transform from hitting to looping mechanics, since the gripping feel is really delicate and accurate, and speed of hits are not as slow as the review shows if you're using a 2.0mm version , which is a better transmitter of power between blade and ball. And most importantly, price is ideal comparing to what it can provide for a beginner. I would rate its overall at 9+ if for a beginner only. (This might differ according to region, in my country F3 is about only 30 USD, being at the same price level of Mark V.)
I recommend this one more than the beginner's "go-to choice"-- Mark V, since it is softer and more versatile, while Mark V needs a harder/stiffer blade to penetrate if you are a beginner, and a harder/stiffer blade demands more skill, which makes Mark V a little bit self-contradictory for a beginner, especially who are self-taught. (I paired Mark V with YE first and couldn't even figure out why people think it is soft and biting).
This one is a honest mediator between you and your blade; it makes you feel your blade and makes your blade reflect how good your skills are. A blade decides quality of shots much more than a rubber, so don't chase a more expensive, more powerful rubber while developing; save money for a proper blade.
But do notice that if a rubber as soft as F3 and as thin as 2.0mm is paired with a stiff/hard enough blade like Kinetic Supreme Off-, control will deteriorate, pushing and looping will lose control more easily. A max version will improve; it will trade less vertical power & speed for more grip & dwell & feel. Thus generally 2.0 for softer blades and max for harder blades.
Since this is a very soft rubber, don't hesitate to change to a harder one if balls are going wild in larger strength. If that happens in max, Sriver EL will be more suitable.
Now I pair 2.0 with my YE and max with Temper Tech Off- BH, and they're great.

I use this on my backhand and it plays fair, good for pushing, soft loop, and decent block, good control
The desto f3 is a very good rubber, it has potential for alround but also for offensive players, the best thing about it is it spin, this is really very good, also the control is awsome, hitting is ok although it misses some speed, blocking is no problem also.
A great rubber for spinners in my opinion if u use it on an off frame,

Donic Desto F3 is a pretty good rubber for the intermediate offensive player. It has really good control, but yet you can still make some fast spinny shots.
One notable characteristic is the awesome sound of smashes and loops. It has an awesome clicking sound when you play with it. You can make some pretty intimidating smashes and loops :)!
I really liked it on my backhand. You can use it to do a small stroke, swift counterloop thats loaded with spin. Its also great for blocking, thought its hard to control.
The durability is average, the rubber seems to tear pretty easily, but it won't affect your game too much. Maybe this rubber is good for you!

If you want a rubber that will give you a real glue feel and sound, this is what you are looking for. Donic's Desto F3 is one of the loudest clicking rubber in existence. The ultra soft sponge also help magnifies the speed glue feel compared to harder sponge tensors, but the soft sponge also makes it more bouncier in the short game.
Looping is very easy with this rubber, it sinks in nicely and allows good dwell time. But when counter looping, the rubber bottoms out too quickly, thus making it less stable. Looping backspin balls is a breeze due to its high throw angle.
Everything is too fragile here though, so the durability of F3 really lacks something to be desired. The price also went up from $25 to $37 in 6 months, so there are better options out there now.

I've tried other rubbers on my backhand, but keep coming back to this one. It has a decent inbuilt speed glue effect. Looping feels really good. Hitting is ok, but the rubber is a bit slow. Get good dwell and catapult for flipping. Pushing is a bit bouncy, but I'm used to it now.
Not very durable. I like this rubber best strait out of the package. After a couple months the sponge really softens up. It's still very usable, but has about a 0.5 point less speed.
I'd imagine the softeness of the sponge makes this rubber too slow for higher level players. I'm beginning to find that the rubber bottoms out on my harder loops and will probably move to 2.2mm soon.

See description for F2. This has just a hair more glue effect, as typically softer versions of the same tensor rubbers will have more click. However, with use the F2 will become just as soft as the f3.
This rubber is a tensor rubber with a soft sponge and a soft top sheet. I've been using this rubber on my backhand since I started playing seriously. We'll call that for 5 years (probably more like 10 off and on). I've tried a few other rubbers, but keep coming back.
Works well for looping close to the table. Ok at mid-distance, but not enough speed to put away point with a loop. Too soft for power smashing, but good enough on an offensive blade by hitting down to the blade. Too slow for looping long distance, but this might be my technique. Good control on blocks can get a lot of topspin on blocks against loops. Great on flipping has lots of dwell to place the ball, then the ball jumps off. A bit bouncy on pushes, but not terrible.
