these are sometimes a little bit unknown and underrated pips in the age of plastic balls. Very versatile allround pips particularly in OX on a mediumhard and mid-fast blade like BTY Primorac Off- . It's possible to set up the way for switching to attack with minimal chances for the opponent to escape the trap. Better than Spinlord 'Dornenglanz' etc. because of more precision and better offensive strokes .

I have been using Piranja Pips for over 10yrs now, Long before frictionless Pips got banned. Very good allround Sponge Pips: all shots are available, but I like Piranja most of all for its flat-hitting potential. No other Long pips I have played can be played so aggressively. I can attack most serves directly & go for a winnig shot, while its also possible to defend away from the table. Doesnt produce as much backspin as Grass Dtecs, but is much better for switching to attack, while Grass is far more difficult to use in attack. Piranja for me is more versatile, even if it isnt as good in the defense. Ist easier to get used to than many other Long pips, since the pips are not quite as far apart as in Grass Dtecs. A good rubber for allround defending+allround attacking.
Very good reversal ,good for chop, block, push and attack i have in ox on grubba all+ blade ,it's very disturbing for opponent, one of the better ones for new plastic balls, piranja can do all the shots very well.
I've tried several long pimple rubbers in the past, mainly Feint Soft and Bamboo Curl, both with 1.0mm sponge. Since Bamboo Curl was banned, I've been looking for a replacement rubber that was more disruptive than Feint Soft but with no discernible loss of control.
1.2mm Piranjatec is the best one I have tried and it is excellent for returning serves, pushing, blocking, and flat hitting. It's not too fast and is quite manageable. An ideal long pimple rubber for the aggressive allround combi bat player.
I agree with vanjr insofar as the only real downside is the price.

Excellent long pips rubber. I used the OX version. This rubber can do everything well. Chopping, pushing, blocking as well as kill shots, flicks and even an occasional loop! Quite manageable compared with other long pips rubbers.
In my opinion, this is the best choice to replace "old" Tibhar Grass D-Tecs : supersoft pimples, providing very similar feeling.
I use Piranja FD Tec 1,2mm on soft blades (Defplay Senso/Matsushita Pro). Sponge is hard, control is very good for such a deceptive LP, speed is medium(<D-Tecs), spin generation is really good (grippy LP). Returning serves is deceptive as hell, like agressive pushes...
This rubber shines at chopping, at any distance. The ball sometimes floats a lot. I'd say that chops are not very low (i.e. the ball often is higher than non-tensor LPs like P1R, FL II) but the backspin is deadly. Exactly like Grass D-Tecs actually. Spin variation on defensive strokes is quite good.
The diffenrence with D-Tecs is : far better control but less deceptive balls.
Attacking and hitting is quite easy with sponge, and very effective. Blocking is ok (better with no sponge I guess).
A very complete LP, without any major default, for all-around players as well as pure defenders. Don't be afraid of the 1,2mm sponge!!! It is not too fast.

This is a very good LP for chopping. I use in OX on a flexible blade and can hit with it as good as any other LP-but my real game is chopping and defense on my bh and this rubber has been very good at this on the right blade. Only down side is the price.
