The following message (subject: guilty conscience) was posted by Kevin, on 1/20/2005 7:42:31 PM:
I need some consoling and reassurance I think. A dude I've been playing with for a long time, Ishmam... we haven't really become friends, more like rivals because we started out at the same level, but now as a penholder I have a dominant service and attack game and my serves are just ten million times better and spinnier than his are and I feel like I'm not actually winning the game because he just can't return any of my serves with any sort of authority. I do a super under/side spin serve from my backhand corner to his backhand corner and he puts it in the net. I do a fast mid-distance angled forehand to forehand serve that I mix up all different spins to confuse him and the best he can do is a fast block or push that is usually high enough that I can step around and slam it. Lately I've been perfecting a no-spin and side/top spin serves down the line and they've been working (just hitting the white corner paint). I feel like such a sissy winning on serve all the time. |
