And a sissy you are indeed. Shame on you, winning games on your serve only! It is not only unethical but soon, under new rules proposed by the ITTF, could be illegal as well! Indeed, to try to make the game more attractive, the ITTF -- after introducing the 40 mm ball and restrictions on hiding the serve -- now is looking into further minimizing the importance of the service by limiting the amoumnt of spin allowed. The ITTF committee on spin -- following recommendations from its subcommittees on top-, back-, and side-spin, will soon propose a maximum of 8 rotations per second on any serve. Presumably, laser guided systems for measuring the number of ball revolutions per second are being developed at Harvard, and the rule will go into effect as soon as the technology has proven solid. So, as a word of advise, diversify your game, play like a man, and only serve without spin! |
