After playing with the BlueStar A2 (52.5 sponge) for several months, and briefly testing the BlueGrip C2 (55 sponge) in between, I decided to try out the BlueGrip J2, which is billed as a "symbiosis of the BlueStar and BlueGrip C series" (52.5 sponge, with a claimed overall hardness of 55.2). I tested all three rubbers (in max thickness) on my Lemuria SALC, a clone of the Butterfly Viscaria SALC. When I played with the C2, which actually has a harder sponge (55) than the other two, I immediately felt him much softer than the J2 or the A2.
- I think a very soft topsheet is responsible for this impression. Regarding the ball trajectory, I didn't notice any major differences between the three rubbers. However, in terms of spin generation, the J2 ranked last among the three; both the A2 and the C2 produced significantly more spin for me. Overall, I didn't find the playing feel of the J2 particularly pleasant, - it felt harder than most other 52.5 rubbers. ( ... and even harder than the C2!) Conclusion: the J2 is absolutely not an option for me. It simply lacks elasticity! By the way, my rubber in max thickness (cut to 157 x 150 mm) weighs 49.2 grams (compared to 50 g for my A2). The topsheet of the J2 isn't tacky enough to really grip the ball. Addendun: Ive just bought the C2 and plan to put it through its paces on the same blade over the coming period. ;-P My review should follow soon, then.

Donic Bluegrip J series - The success story continues
The new component in the Bluegrip J series combines the strengths of two rubber sheets. Under the direction of the new Donic partner Zhang Jike, a symbiosis of the Bluestar A and Bluegrip C series was created. The top sheet mixture of the Bluestar A provided the basis for this combination, while the sponge structure and the geometry of the top sheet pimples are identical to those of the Bluegrip C. The result is a new rubber sheet that meets the highest demands: very dynamic and extremely spin-friendly, powerful and yet with good feeling. Three versions are also available in this DONIC rubber series: Bluegrip J1 is the hardest version, J2 the medium version and J3 the softest sponge version. China's superstar Zhang Jike personally spent countless hours of testing during the development work to perfect the fine-tuning of the nuances. The result is an impressive mix of the positive characteristics of two proven rubber series, the Donic Bluegrip J. Huge fan of this rubber on my backhand. Medium hard sponge, very slightly tacky. Catapulty but a bit more linear, chinese directness. Great offensive rubber with high speed ceiling. Pretty hard to chop with, which is to be expected. Got this to replace my Dignics 09c as I wanted a bit less catapult and a bit more consistency while keeping some of the same speed and bit of tackiness. I couldn't have asked for a better change. My backhand feels more dangerous on blocks (its incredibly fast and direct on blocks), my loops are super consistent while also still fast and powerful, without the super high catapult (it definitely has catapult, but nowhere near as high as 09c or Zyre, ofc) and just all around I love this rubber. Everyone who tries it out loves it as well, whether its one of my coaches who is 2700 USATT or myself who is 1500 USATT. I used it on an Innerforce ALC for a few months and then upgraded to my Viscaria Super ALC, and it felt even more dangerous paired with the reactivity of that blade. Will probably be my rubber for the next several years! Great price too.
Have been using on BH with JM SZLC and it has been very good so far. Very consistent, spinny loops and great control. Not the quickest rubber (tenergy 05 hard, etc) but makes up for it in consistency.
Bought this as a lateral upgrade to Dignics 09c on my BH was looking for a bit more linear response, but still great speed and looping ability. I absolutely love it. It's half the price, is easier to consistently loop with, and the more linear arc is fantastic, but it doesn't feel so flat that its hard to get it over on flicks - it still has some great catapult to it. Doesn't feel as tacky as they say it is to the touch, but when playing you can definitely feel the tackiness/grip in the amount of spin that comes on the ball - people are constantly underestimating the spin and returning my loops off the table. Wouldn't get it if you enjoy chopping once in a while, as it is a bit too hard and not tacky enough for decent chops.

Exceptional Backhand rubber for chinese style. For forehand it's preferable J1 . The durability is outstanding. For J1 removing the glue is quite easy , for j2 is not so easy removing the glue (the sponge will be damage). I reccomend not using liquid glue but use high density glue like FineZip or DHS.
