The Donic BlueStar A2 is an alternative for all pros who find the 52.5° sponge of the BlueStar A1 too hard, or who prefer a slightly softer sponge hardness. The BlueStar A2 is available with sponge hardness of 50°. The technology that makes the small-pored sponge of the BlueStar so special is, of course, also used with this version: Optimised Energy Sponge (OPTE) sets standards in terms of elasticity and shock absorbing level. Development, production and processing of the BlueStar meet the highest requirements, which is why this is the epitome of the rubbers. Now also available with slightly softer sponge hardness, which is ideal for most advanced players that play up to professional level.

• Technology: OPTE sponge technology, extremely catapult-strong, dynamic, fine-pored 50° sponge.
• Character: Very dynamic, super speed and spin characteristics
• Recommendation: For attacking and offensive players

Rubber Type: Smooth
Speed: 97
Spin: 99

Reviews of Donic BlueStar A2 (3)

Obviously, various reviewers don't seem to be clear on how to translate the term "tackiness". - ... this rubber is definitely "not tacky" and can "not really lift the ball" !!! 24.06.: As the rubber was too expensive for me to buy new, I bought a used one that was in mint condition. In black, it weighs 48 g, is 2.0 mm thick and measures 157 x 150 mm. For my first test, I stuck the rubber (with solvent-based glue) onto my Huieson ZLC (- outer). The DOTZ test turned out to be extremely interesting. With minimal use of the wrist, you can generate an incredible amount of rotation. (- very promising!!!) ... the 50 degree hard sponge feels a little softer! 28.06.: first Impressions after playing on my Huieson ZLC: the rotation at my serves, is absolutely outstanding and higher than every rubber I played in the past. - however this rubber is a bit sensitive to the incoming rotation. In contrast to the Dig 09c, where I can neutralize the opponent's spin much better, here I have to go at the ball much more aggressively. ... the earlier I go for the ball in an offensive game, the more effective my balls are. - however, I will change the blade, Sanwei 75 ALC Inner. 02.07.: this blade is clearly the better choice. Due to the fact that this rubber has much more catapult (and more speed!) than my Dig. 09c in max. thickness, I don't feel save with it in the short game. - although all in all he is already very controlled.
Conclusion: while with the 09c I can deliberately take the ball very late and still be able to get it to the target, with the A2 I have to go to the ball much earlier in order to be able to play balls with high quality! However, aggressive play over the table seems easier with the A2 than with the Dig. ... which is due to the catapult, the higher speed and the immense grip! The A 2 is therefore a very interesting rubber for mid and higher class player. - oh yes, after a short time of playing the top rubber no longer looks "so pretty". :-(

Wszystkim ambitnym graczom do polecenia.

Been using this rubber for 3 months, used this on the forehand. Really good rubbers from donic, easy to control and super easy to do loops. Maybe will try bluestar A1 for forehand and bluestar a2 for the backhand. Currently still using acuda s2 for backhand (also very good rubber) ?
