As I read the existing 4 reviews, I had to shake my head. ... cause in my opinion the truth lies somewhere in between !!! ( - I'm sure I'll get "thumbs down" ratings for my statement again!!! :-/ ) THIS rubber is definitely not (too) slow. - boosting is a matter of absolute discretion !!! In itself, the rubber is extremely controlled , only if you try to play it a little more passively, then the balls fly in ALL direction station, which it is unable to absorb!!!). - is this perhaps due to the very high stickiness, which "gets in the way" of the catapult behavior with such shots??? The maximum speed of this rubber (at 2 mm) is easier to access than with my favorite rubber, the Dig. 09c. (2.1 mm) ... but in the end it is not higher, but comparable. (- with less physical effort!!!) As far as spin potential is concerned, the EL 52 delivers more rotation than the Dig. 09c. Above all, you need significantly less arm movement!!! - very comfortable when serving. ;-P
The weight of my two black EL 52 is 50 and 51 g. (by 157 x 150 mm) Hardness: 52 degree int. I tested (in direct comparison with the Dig.09c) on a Huieson ZLC (outer, Z. JK. copy) and on my SANWEI 75 Inner ALC. (... both OFF blades!) - the better performance was achieved on the Sanwei blade. CONCLUSION: if you don't mind the spin susceptibility and use a blade that is fast enough, you can "live" with a 2 mm sponge... otherwise the max. version should definitely be enough for most players!!!

Good rubber. Defnitely slower than some other hybrid like K3, D09c (can't try the superselect version) etc but with more control and more spin oriented and the arc is more pronounced. Need to engage a lot if you want to create high speed with this rubber but its possible, a fast/rigid blade could help it.
It is a very good rubber, without a booster it needs approximately 3 weeks for the foam to expand and be more flexible and faster. The serves have a lot of spin, the topspin is very good, the blocking has very good control, on the table it is excellent. In short, I really liked it for my game, it also serves as a BH rubber although I use it in FH.
This rubber is pretty much unplayable on a decent level if not boosted!

I though this rubber is tensor because Lev Katsman uses it, and his style is far away from the table. He must be boosting the crap out of it, or plays with different rubber. It is very very slow. The ball bounces twice and stops.
This is basically a slightly less tackier version of H3, with a slightly different throw angle. VERY tacky, which I like. VERY slow. I have a few Viscarias, and I put Codexx 52 on Viscaria. I normally play with D05 on Viscaria, and when I started looping, my training partner said that it feels spinny, but because it is slow, vs D05 he doesn't have to work as hard to block my shots, doesn't feel that he has to worry about ball going off the table. Tried it on the BH, same thing. Very difficult to miss, but super slow.
I play in a tournament in a few weeks, so don't want to mess with the new rubber, but after the tournament I will try to boost it and test it again. Will keep you posted if I do that.

For me this is the best rubber I've ever used. Every time I try to use other rubber now I always go back to Codexx. It has excellent control while giving very good speed. Touch game on receive and serve is a notch above other rubbers and the spin is obviously excellent. The topsheet is sticky and maintains its tack long term. The rubber lasts a long time and is still performing. I am using this on my FH but just ordered it for my backhand as well. If you are looking for a good hybrid rubber look no further. I used to use T05 and now I can't go back because I can just do more with this rubber.
